Please share a memory of Brandon to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
Brandon Logan Hertel of Camrose, Alberta, passed away on Sunday, July 23, 2017 at the age of 25 years. Brandon has always been athletic, bold and adventurous. Any sport he chose to pick up, he excelled at from the very start. Whether it be learning to ride a bike, trampoline and tumbling classes, soccer, swimming - but his talent and skill for baseball was greater than any other sport. He had always been fearless; riding his bikes off of cliffs on a dare, jumping off bridges into rivers, flips off of the garage roof onto the trampoline. Whenever he fell, he would always pick himself up, brush himself off (clean up the blood) and try again. One of Brandon's greatest treasures was his love of both children, and animals. He quite often could be found running after the little ones in the room, teaching them new tricks and making them giggle. He always cherished animals, and from his first dog Tory through all of his many pets to his best friend Rocky, a place in his heart was always dedicated to helping and loving the critters around him. Although his life was cut short, Brandon touched the lives of everyone who crossed his path. He had a way of finding something to share with every person he met, and he always strived to put a smile on your face, no matter what. His memory will always be carried through the hearts of those he loved, and the many memories he made with so many. Left to cherish his memory are his parents Jim and Susan Hertel; his girlfriend Carla Hewson and her children Kemtrin, Dreydon, and Saigen; siblings Dustin, Eric (Carrie Pederson), Courtney and Abby; grandmothers Christine Hertel and Judy Robbins; long time friend Kelly (Carl) Falk; numerous aunts, uncles, and cousins; and best friend Rocky, his dog. Brandon was predeceased by his grandfathers Glenn Robbins, Art Hertel, and Lyle Thorburn. A time for viewing took place at 7:00 p.m., Thursday, July 27, 2017 from the Burgar Memorial Chapel. A gathering to celebrate Brandon's life was held from 1:00 p.m. onward, Saturday, July 29, 2017 from the Norseman Inn, Camrose. If family and friends so desire, memorial contributions will be gratefully accepted to the Camrose and Area Animal Shelter Society.
