Obituary of James "Jimmy" Welda

James (Jim/Jimmy) Rolfe Welda passed away Sunday, August 20th, 2017 at the age of 70, in the St.Marys Hospital Camrose Alberta, after a lengthy and courageous battle. Jim will always be remembered by his loving wife of forty-one years Lynne; daughter Shawna (Jason) Molnar; and son Matthew (Melissa) Welda. He is also survived by his pride and joy, six grandchildren, Aiden, Shelby, Hailey, Keyton, Sarah and Nicholas. Also left to remember him are his sister Susan (Arnie) Ramm; two brothers Arthur (Shirley) Welda, and Brian Welda; and numerous nieces and nephews. Jim was predeceased by his father Rolfe; mother Margaret; and sister-in-law Jenny Welda. Jim was born October 4th, 1946 and grew up on the family farm where he continued the family tradition by farming with his dad and brother Brian for many years. In 1974 Jim met the love of his life, Lynne. They were married December 18, 1975 and moved into the house on the farm that Jim had purchased. Here they began their life. Their next chapter brought them a much wanted daughter and son. In 1988 Jim took a different path and began driving school bus, a passion more than a job that he held for twenty-three years. He thoroughly enjoyed his job and all the children he worked with. This brought him to retirement. As Jim's battle began he spent every moment enjoying his grandchildren. He also loved his time with his friends new and old with Lynne always by his side. A Funeral Service was held at 1:00 p.m., Monday, August 28, 2017 from Scandia Lutheran Church with Rev. Prema Samuel officiating. If family and friends so desire, memorial contributions are gratefully accepted to STARS or to the charity of ones choice.
