Barbara Edith Cunningham passed away in Camrose on Saturday, September 16, 2017 at the age of 85 years. She was born on July 6, 1932 in Hafford, Saskatchewan, the oldest of seven children of Henry and Emma (Bodie) Cunningham of Speers, Saskatchewan. The family moved to New Norway, Alberta in October 1952. Barbara married Con Bjornson in August 1954, becoming parents to a son and daughter, later divorced.
She was predeceased by her parents; three brothers Donald, Edward "Teddie", and Russell; and an infant niece Linnea. She is survived by her son Warren (Susan) Bjornson, granddaughter Jennifer and grandson Nicholas; and her daughter Marlaine (Terry) Hockam and grandsons Matthew and Mitchell; brothers Jim (Carolyn) Cunningham, Bruce Cunningham, and Grant Cunningham; nieces Linnea and Christine; nephews Bruce Jr. (Kelly), Kevin (Andrew), Curtis (Bonnie), Michael (Geralyn); great-nieces and nephews, cousins and many friends.
A Funeral Service was held at 1:00 p.m., Tuesday, September 26, 2017 from the Camrose United Church with Rev. Mary Annan officiating.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations are gratefully accepted to the Hospice Society of Camrose and District, or to the charity of one's choice.
A Memorial Tree was planted for Barbara
