Obituary of Walter Kuefler

Mr. Walter Kuefler of Camrose, passed away on Sunday October 8, 2017 at the age of 89 years. Walter was born to Peter and Francis Kuefler on November 16, 1927 at Galahad, the second oldest of eleven children. Walter married the love of his life Leone Roth on March 28, 1951. Over the past 66 years together they raised their family, supported their friends, community and their church. Walter was quiet, patient, humble, meticulous and loving, He enjoyed hunting, fishing and spending time out with family and friends in the trailer or motorhome. His great enjoyment was his shop and he used his carpentry craftsmanship to support his family and help many others. He loved family celebrations. He was the Mayor of Bittern Lake and served on the board of Stoney Creek and Rosalta Lodge for many years. Walter will be long remembered and greatly missed. He was predeceased by his son Kenneth, brothers Allan and Patrick, and his great-grandson Nolan McGregor. He is survived by his wife Leone; daughter Dianne (Lawrence) Kowalenko; sons Lloyd (Diane), Ron (Bev), Del (Lori), Lyle and Arlyn (Teresa); fifteen grandchildren Kimberly (Ted) Wilkie, Brandy McGregor (Terry Calder), Clint McGregor, Lindsay (Tonny) Rivero, Megan, Amy, Drew (Amber Goertzen), Rayna (Michael) Heinzlmeir, Sherry (Jen), Ryan (Megan), Jeff, Scott (Susan), Chris, Adam, and Kevin Sharp; thirteen great-grandchildren Evan, Keegan, Rainne, Elizabeth, Sebastian, Alexis, Kaitlin, Jaicee, Brant, Jax, Georgia, Dominic, and Karter; and one great-great grandson Evan. A Funeral Service with Mass was celebrated on Thursday October 12, 2017 at 11:00 am from St. Francis Xavier Roman Catholic Church, Camrose with Rev. Larry Pederson as celebrant. If family and friends so desire, memorial contributions are gratefully accepted to Camrose Home Care.
