Obituary of Ronald McCaw

Ronald M. McCaw of Leduc, 78, passed away in peace Wednesday October 18, 2017 after a brief illness at the Grey Nuns Hospital in Edmonton surrounded by his loving family. Born in Milbridge, Ontario, on May 13, 1939, he was the eldest son of the late Bernice and Joseph McCaw. He leaves behind his wife of 50 years, Joan (Lummiss) McCaw; his sons, William and Brennan McCaw; his three beautiful grandchildren Madison, Katelyn and Jake McCaw; his sisters Patricia Reid and Georgina Moffat (Wally); his brother Joseph McCaw (Mary Ann); brother-in-law Daniel Lummiss; sister-in-law Diane Amey; and all of his nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, his daughter-in-law Marcy (Heschuk) McCaw and brothers-in-law Donald Reid and Roy Amey. Ron called several places home (Ontario, Yukon Territories, Northwest Territories, British Columbia, Alberta) throughout his life but the constant was the profound effect on those lives he touched along the way. His constant pursuit for education and betterment of himself and love for the environment had him obtaining several licenses and certifications, most recently receiving Masters Degrees from the University of Calgary (MED Planning '94 and MED EVSC '97), with which he travelled Canada, the U.S. and into the Caribbean as an environmental consultant. His family and friends were the center of his life and he was happiest when surrounded by them. His gentle smile, good nature, and generosity will live forever in our hearts. His interment will be held privately. The details of his Celebration of Life will be posted at a later date.
