Obituary of Eleanor Rosland

Eleanor Rosland passed away on Saturday, October 29, 2011 at the age of 101. She was born in Detroit Lakes, Minnesota June 26, 1910 youngest daughter of William and Anna (Fetzner) Haspel. Eleanor came to Canada in 1912 with her parents and oldest sister Rose to a homestead north of Camrose which had already been cleared by her father and grandfather Anton Haspel in 1902. Eleanor married Oscar Rosland in 1931 to which a daughter Marjorie was born in 1938. Eleanor leaves to mourn her daughter Marjorie (Don) Dorosz and her granddaughter Daryl-Ann (Jim Edwards) Dorosz all of Calgary; her brother William Haspel and sister Genevieve Bradbury both of Minnesota; she is also survived by her sister-in-law Jeanette Holt of Bashaw and friend Irene Sharkey of Camrose, as well as numerous nieces and nephews. Eleanor also leaves to mourn all of those that gave mom so much support during her stay in hospital are Diane Bentley of Minnesota, Joan (Jon) McDougall of Champion, Darrell and Lila of Camrose and Norma Wright of Bashaw. Funeral services were held on Thursday, November 3, 2011 at 2:00 p.m. from the Burgar Memorial Chapel with Rev. Brian Hunter officiating. Interment followed in the Camrose Cemetery. Memorial contributions are gratefully accepted to the charity of one's choice.
