Obituary of Irene Sjolie

Irene Bacon was born February 3, 1922 to William and Jesse Bacon and was the middle child between brothers Billy and Charlie. On March 7, 1945, she married Lawrence Sjoiie. On August 16, 1945, their son Larry was born in London, England. After World War II ended, Irene and baby Larry would come over to Canada to be with Lawrence, settling in the community of Camrose, Alberta. On December 27, 1946, daughter Joan was born in Camrose. Irene went to work at Rosehaven where she was employed for 29 years until her retirement. In retirement, Irene would enjoy spending time with her grandsons, Trent, Dean and Cody. In her spare time, Irene loved to go to dances, loved to knit, crochet and do many many jigsaw puzzles.
Irene Sjolie passed away on November 8, 2017 at St Mary's Hospital here in Camrose at the age of 95.
She is survived by daughter Joan Wilhauk; daughter-in-law Georgia Sjolie; grandson Trent (Nicolle) Wilhauk; grandson Cody (Keri) Sjolie; and great-grandchildren Alexander, Adam, Jenna and Jared Wilhauk; and her long-time companion Gordon Barker.
She was predeceased by her husband Lawrence in 1984; grandson Dean Wilhauk in 2005; son Larry in 2009; son-in-law Alexander Wilhauk in 2013; and of course her parents and brothers.
A Funeral Service was held at 1:00 p.m., Friday, November 10, 2017 from the Burgar Memorial Chapel with Rev. Calvin Skriver officiating., Interment has taken place in the Camrose Cemetery.
