Ann Farness of Camrose, formerly of Round Hill, Alberta passed away on Thursday, November 16, 2017 at the age of 93 years. Ann was born in 1924 in Edmonton to John and Harriet Russell. Ann grew up in Edmonton moved to Dinant then later to Round Hill where she married Lester Farness in 1946. They lived on a farm near Round Hill and raised three children Diane, Art and Janice. In 1970 she lost her beloved husband Lester. She moved to Camrose in 1974 and worked in the Legion kitchen with her best friend Ruth Adamson. Ann loved to play cards and games with her children and grandchildren. She also loved to go camping with Ruth Adamson and her family. Ann spent many Christmases with Art and Jane making perogies and preparing for Christmas. She loved opera and pan flute music. Ann is cherished and missed by her children Art (Jane) and Janice (Stan) Shott; five grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; son-in-law Bob Keohane; brothers-in-law Dennis Meadal and Melvin Farness; and sister-in-law Delores Bruce. She was predeceased by her husband Lester; daughter Diane; brothers Johnny and Tommy; and sister-in-law Joyce Meadahl. A Funeral Service was held at 11:00 a.m., Monday, November 27, 2017 from the Burgar Memorial Chapel with Rev. Brian Hunter officiating. If family and friends so desire, memorial contributions are gratefully accepted to the Cancer Research Society.
