It is with heavy hearts the family of Evelyn Dorothy Swanson Parsons announces her passing on November 19, 2017 at Bethany CollegeSide in Red Deer, Alberta.
Evelyn was the fourth child born to John and Cora Reise on June 29, 1921 in Camrose, Alberta. She attended the Normal School in Camrose and received her certificate in bookkeeping.
After her marriage to Henning Swanson they resided on the Swanson Homestead Farm East of Camrose where they raised their two daughters, Arlene and Donna. After Henning's passing in 1970, Evelyn moved to Camrose where she met and married Arthur Parsons in 1973. They relocated to an acreage near Rosalind until moving to Hillside Village in Camrose in 1992. In 2014, she moved to Bethany CollegeSide Care Centre in Red Deer.
Evelyn is survived by her two daughters Arlene Christenson and Donna (Dennis) Pedersen; grandchildren Carla Gabel (Jerry Horvat), Wendy Baron (Greg Sandau), Wade (Andrea) Christenson, Daniel (Tammy) Pedersen and Deanna (Warren) Rahier; great-grandchildren Kiara, Jessica and Kelsey Gabel, Cole and Dax Baron, Tia and Zain Christenson, Julia and Jacob Pedersen, and Avery and Natalie Rahier.
Evelyn was predeceased by her parents John and Cora Reise; sister Gayle Graham; brothers Harold and Lake Reise; first husband Henning Swanson; grandson Marlin Christenson; and her second husband Arthur Parsons.
Evelyn will be missed dearly by her family and friends.
A Funeral Service was held at 2:00 p.m., Friday, November 24, 2017 from the Messiah Lutheran Church with Rev. Calvin Skriver officiating.
Donations in Evelyn's name can be made to the Stollery Children's Hospital or to Bethany CollegeSide in Red Deer, Alberta.
