Obituary of Carla Harris

Carla Gwen Harris of Camrose passed away on Sunday, December 10, 2017 at the age of 58 years. Carla Gwen Harris (nee Courchene) was born on October 25, 1959 in Hudson Bay, Saskatchewan to Lawrence and Jane Courchene. Carla lived in Hudson Bay until she graduated high school and left to attend college in Saskatoon. Later she moved to Edmonton and continued to live there and in the surrounding areas. She was married for a brief time to John Harris. She worked in the hotel industry in various locations across central Alberta before settling in Camrose. She began working at the Camrose Resort and Casino when it opened, and worked her way up, making numerous friends along the way. Carla leaves behind her two brothers Cliff and Bernie (Cathy); sister Rhonda (Doug); nieces and nephews Jason, Jenise, Solange (James), Jennifer, Lizette, Trevor, and Daniel; and great-nieces Grace and Thornley. Carla was predeceased by her parents Lawrence and Jane. Carla's family was the most important thing in her life. She loved and cherished them unconditionally, and will be missed dearly by them. Dearest sister, you are gone too soon, but we take comfort in knowing Mom and Dad are looking after you again. A Funeral Service was held at 2:00 p.m., Saturday December 16, 2017 from the Burgar Memorial Chapel. Inurnment has taken place in the Camrose Cemetery.
