Obituary of Donna Davis

Donna Lois Davis of Evansburg, formerly of Edmonton, passed away on Monday, January 8, 2018 at the age of 80 years. Donna was born to Fred and Mabel Gotheridge in Round Hill on November 9, 1937. Donna was baptized, confirmed, and her marriages were in Trondhjem Lutheran Church. She spent most of her childhood in Round Hill attending school there and finishing her education at Camrose Lutheran College. In school, she excelled in all sports and was an avid curler most of her life. Donna also had musical talents, she loved to play piano and sing along with all friends and family members . She married John Wagner in 1956 and to this union three children were born. She married Charles "Chuck" Davis in 1983. They retired to Evansburg where they have been for the last fourteen years. Left to cherish her memory are her husband Chuck; her sons Randy Wagner (Winnifred Hookey) and Darwin Wagner; son-in-law Dennis Foss; Chuck's children Debbie Davis, Donald (Lynn) Davis, Doug (Carol) Davis, Patricia Davis (Doug), and Wendy Solley; sister Carol (Harold) Hansen; fifteen grandchildren; fourteen great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews. Donna was predeceased by her daughter Cindy Foss; her first husband John Wagner; and her parents Fred and Mabel Gotheridge. Donna will always be remembered as a loving wife, mother, grandmother, aunt, and friend. She was known for her gift of hospitality, making everyone feel welcome in her home. She had an infectious smile and zest for life. A Funeral Service was held at 1:00 p.m., Wednesday, January 17, 2018 from Messiah Lutheran Church with Rev. Calvin Skriver officiating. Interment has taken place in the Camrose Cemetery. If family and friends so desire, memorial contributions are gratefully accepted to the Canadian Cancer Society, or to the charity of one's choice.
