Obituary of Sylvia "Patricia" Kiddine

Sylvia Patricia Kiddine of Camrose passed away on Tuesday, January 16, 2018 at the age of 88 years. Sylvia "Patricia" Kiddine was born to John and Eva Crowe on December 2, 1929 in Camrose, Alberta. She grew up on a farm in the Kelsey area, near Dried Meat Lake. She met and married Peter Kiddine on December 9th, 1948 and moved to the Kiddine homestead between Bawlf and Daysland. They welcomed three children into their family, Ron, Jeanette, and Gordon. In 1987, following Peter's death, Pat re-located to Camrose, Alberta. Her last years were spent in continuing care at Maple Cottage, Bethany Meadows, until she passed away on January 16th, 2018. To the end, she was deeply appreciative and thankful for the support and care she received from the Maple Cottage Staff. Pat enjoyed creating, being part of community, and people. Creating and art flowed into doing the best with what she had on hand at any given time; be it when she was cooking, sewing, painting, decorating, dressing or judging at local fairs. Her commitment to community was displayed in her work as a support homemaker, teaching sewing classes, the Crisis line, the Open Door, St. Mary's Auxiliary, the United Church, the Good Deeders and other community activities. She deeply enjoyed people and a good conversation over a cup of tea or coffee. Showing consideration for others, being kind and demonstrating respect through politeness were personality cornerstones that framed her life until the end. Pat took great comfort and pride in her family. Often, even in the last few months of her life, she would comment they were her greatest joy, reflecting on her deep love for each one. Left to cherish her memory, with just as much love, are her children Ronald (Karoline) of Sherwood Park, Jeanette (Bert) Copping of Brampton, Ontario, and Gordon (Mary Lou) of Camrose; six grandchildren Rob Kiddine (Michelle), Ryan Kiddine (Dayna), Rebecca Bagherli (Ali), Karen Kiddine, Colin Kiddine and Christine Kiddine; seven great-grandchildren Anna, Erica, Kenadee, Hudson, Taylor, Sebastian, and Benjamin; and niece Deb Wagar, who visited often. Patricia was predeceased by her husband Peter Kiddine; parents John and Eva Crowe; grandsons Bradley Copping and Jeremy Kiddine; and sister Millicent Gertsma. On Pat's behalf the family wishes to thank each of you for taking the time to come and share in her celebration of life. A Funeral Service was held at 11:00 a.m., Saturday, January 20, 2018 from Camrose United Church with Rev. Liz Carter-Morgan officiating.
