Obituary of Edward (Ed) Rau

Edward Joseph Rau was born August 19th, 1959 at St Mary's Hospital in Camrose. He was the first born son to Isabelle Cire and Albert Rau. Ed passed away peacefully on February 1st, 2018 at St Mary's with family by his side at the age of 58 years. Ed's early years were spent at Edberg. Later the family moved to the farm north of Camrose. He continued his education at Kingman School, to Grade 9, and then finished at CCHS and graduated with his matriculation. He was accepted at the University of Alberta to pursue an engineering degree in electronics. Ed was predeceased by his father Albert; brother Kenneth; and nephew Ken Rau. He is survived by his mother Isabelle Cire; brothers Cliff, Pat (Elaine), sister Marilyn (Shelley); also numerous nieces and nephews as well as great niece and nephew. He will always be remembered for his positive outlook, kindness, sense of humor and generosity through all the challenges that life brought him and will be missed and loved by all that knew him. A funeral service was held at 2:00 p.m., Saturday, February 10, 2018 from the Burgar Memorial Chapel. If family and friends so desire, memorial contributions are gratefully accepted to the Palliative Care Unit at St. Mary's Hospital or to the Hospice Society of Camrose and District.
