Please share a memory of Terry to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
Terry Allan Scott of Camrose passed away on Tuesday, February 6, 2018 at the age of 58 years.
Terry Allan Scott was born in Camrose on November 2, 1959. He was the eldest son of Gordon and Gwen Scott and big brother to Tracy. Terry spent his younger years on the family farm north of Camrose where he enjoyed life. The farm was always precious to Terry and he only really felt at home when he was there. He enjoyed his cousins, friends and neighbors growing up. He attended Sifton School. Terry went to work well drilling with his Dad Gordon. Machines were his passion. Backhoe work, bobcat and tractor work, he loved it all. He worked also for United Grain Growers and had his own elevator in Bawlf. On June 20, 1981 Terry married Cindy Brausen. Terry and Dennis Cindy's brother spent many a weekend together, doing auto body work, playing cards or cruising Bawlf Main Street. Jacalyn and Cathy remember lots of card games and how they could always depend on Terry to lend a hand when needed. To this Union was born three precious sons to carry on the Scott family name, Bradley in 1982, Jeffrey in 1984, and Dave in 1986. Early years we remember camping with Dave and Stacey Wesley, Jeanette and Larry King and of course Brenda and the boys. There was many a barbecue and fire in our back yard spending time with Jim, Charlene, Chanel and Hannah (what doin Terry), Park and Olga Rayfuse and Rod Hayduk. In about 1985 Terry began work at Byers Flour Mills. He started a six week temporary position that he worked at until 2017. Terry worked other jobs in his life too but he always came back to the flour mill where he was most comfortable. Terry was never happier than when the crew was all together, Stan Skoye, Cathy Krezanowski, Margaret Fraser, Caron McKenzie, Les Lemke, Char and Kevin, these were his people. He knew he could count on them and they could count on him. Terry loved his garage. He spent countless hours working on cars, motorbikes and building things. The boys all spent time in the garage. There was nothing he was afraid to try, from building little chairs to doing brakes or changing motors in vehicles. Every Halloween the boys and Terry built a haunted house with Deadger, the Halloween mascot. Terry was famous for his pancake breakfasts (just a little beer makes it fluffier) and chili and homemade buns nearly every Saturday. We loved those homemade buns. Terry moved back to the farm in 2006. After the passing of his dad Gordon he helped Gwen maintain the farm. Terry is now free from addictions and pain. Blessed be his memory.
He is survived by his Mother Gwen Scott; sons Brad (Fran), Jeff (Brittany), and Dave (Jenna); the Mother of his children Cindy Scott; four grandsons; one granddaughter; and brother Tracy (Darla) Scott. Terry was predeceased by his father John "Gordon" Scott.
A Funeral Service was held at 2:00 p.m., Wednesday, February 14, 2018 from the Burgar Memorial Chapel with Richard Schultz officiating. Inurnment has taken place in the Bittern Lake Cemetery.
Memorial contributions are gratefully accepted to Alcoholics Anonymous, Camrose Chapter, or to the charity of one's choice.
