Verna Ila Grasdal was born September 4, 1923 in the Rosebush District of Edberg, Alberta, the second child of Elmer and Pauline Sand. She passed away peacefully on June 19, 2010 at the Radway Continuing Care Centre at the age of 86 years.
She is survived by her loving daughters Carol (Ken) Boychuk, Debbie (Henry Gogolin), four grandchildren Brent (Lisa) Boychuk, Lynn (Murray) Hinz, Lori Michael) Rudanec, Christopher Dwan) Gogolin, brother Orin Sand, sister Jean Stewart, sister-in-law Selma Sand, five great grandchildren and numerous nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.
Verna was predeceased by her husband Stewart, parents Elmer and Pauline Sand, brothers Leon and Lyle Sand, sister-in-law Elizabeth Sand and brother-in-law Larry Stewart.
Funeral services were held on Thursday, June 24, 2010 at 2:00 p.m. from the Burgar Memorial Chapel with Rev. Steven Sparks officiating. Interment followed in the Camrose Cemetery.
