Very saddened to hear of Mike’s passing. I have fond memories of Mike when we were growing up as young teens in West Van. His pleasant personality, free spirit and unmatched sense on humour will leave me with a lasting memory of Mike. My fondest memory of Mike will be sometime back in 1978 while I was a young soldier living in Calgary. I hadn’t seen Mike for several years and one Friday night and after committing a minor indiscretion in a downtown bar, I ended up in the back of a police paddy wagon. There were several other wrongdoers in the wagon but one person I did not expect to see was Mike Bowie. He was the one bright spot of that whole evening. We chatted and laughed all the way to the police station. Mike had a way of making people laugh. I often tell that story. I’ll never forget that night and consequently will never forget Mike. Rest in peace my friend Tom Hubley

I will always remmeber you mike from our golf games at gleen eagles and drinking your home made wine and me tiping your mom and dad's bbq in teh pool of course it was a accident to the fisrt time you took me sking up in wisler never sky in my life and my naking your front teth out by accident of course with my sky pool and had to drive you home to your dad's office in west van to the time we went to the okanagan in the el camino and that was just our teens love you mike your friend jose 4 ever will rememeber you as one of my best friends and my blessing goes to all hes friends and family
