A lovely lady for sure and one of my first friends when I moved to Camrose. Her family looked after me and my children in so many ways and our frienship continued. Her lovely smile and quick wit will never be forgotten.
My thoughts and prayers are with all of the family at this diffucult time.

I met Marianne when I was hired some 50 plus years ago by Wardair and thanks to her kind encouragement and tolerance I was able to get past being airsick and flew on for several years. She had a wicked sense of humour so kept us all in suspense of what trick she was going to play on one of us during each flight. Her organizational skills were amazing but most of all it was her good nature, kindness, and joy of life that I so clearly remember. We stayed in touch although I regret it was only an annual phone call these past few years. My deepest condolences to her family as I know how deeply she touched the lives of all who had the privilege of knowing the exceptional Marianne.

Marianne was the ultimate stewardess. I first flew with her with Canadian Pacific Air Lines. As I recall in the 1950's - early 60's Marianne was forced to retire from CPAL as you were not allowed to be married and fly in those ancient days. Bill had come into her life.
Max Ward recognized that she would be the perfect person to organize the cabin service on Wardair's venture into overseas charter flying. I was fortunate to be hired by Max at the same time in 1962, so flew many times with Marianne.
She was the go-to lady to set up the first class cabin service that Wardair was so famous for. She was responsible for the hiring of the stewardesses and designing the new uniforms. Marianne did it all. She was a warm and always genial and smiling person who made sure all her passengers and crew were looked after and content on the long overseas flights. You knew it was going to be a great trip if Marianne was on the crew roster. She lit up a room with her presence and still is the favorite memory for all the crew who regarded her as the ultimate in a classy stewardess.
I kept in touch with her all these years and will very much miss her.
Condolences to all her other friends and family.

Many years ago a little boy (Brent) was brought into my grade one room to begin the first day of school by his mom (Marianne) and so I met one of the most caring and generous 'moms' I have had the privilege to then go on to call my friend. Whenever we would meet over the years, Marianne was would always proudly update me on what her kids (especially Brent) and then grandkids were doing. Please accept my sincere condolences on the loss of a lovely lady who impacted many and will be remembered fondly. Brenda (Manning) Deringer
