Uncle Paul has left this Earth, but I will always feel his presence because he touched my family and I in a very special way. As a little kid living in Whitecourt, Uncle Paul and Auntie Marian's house was my favourite place to be. I will always remember sitting on Uncle Paul's lap, tasting his rum and coke and making him pop his dentures out. Made me laugh every time. He had the patience of a Saint. I never saw him angry- my siblings and I would hang off him and around him for hours until my parents would tell us to give Uncle Paul a break. I so looked forward to annual camping trips with the O'Riordans and enjoyed eating my chocolate Easter bunny that I received every year from them. Uncle Paul wasn't my Uncle by blood- he was better than that. He was the Uncle my parents chose for us. The Uncle they knew Rob, Beth and I had to have. I'll always miss you, Uncle Paul, but I will see you again.

My deepest sympathy to the whole family. I on got to know Paul in the time he was ill, and even in that time he was very pleasant, and loved to visit. He had a great sense on humor, like the time he wanted to see what white framed glasses look like on him and asked to try mine on. The world lost a great man who will be truely missed. Goodbye cupcake may you not be in pain anymore.
