Dear Rau family, When Carl and I heard about Ken, I felt so saddened that this world lost such a kind young man. All I could think about is when he was playing football and my 2 year old son Michael and then later on Andrew grew so attached to him. I remember Ken hoisting Michael on his shoulder and carrying him around and playing catch with him. Marlis I remember the album you made for us. I brought it out and started looking at the pictures. My deepest sympathies go out to the Rau family. I enjoyed visiting with you this summer Marlis and catching up on what your children were up to. I was just visiting with Alvar Lindroth yesterday and he said he had been down to Ken's funeral on Sat. He told me his son Dean was a very close friend of Ken's. I related to him my story that I told you this summer about remembering what a smart little guy Kenny was in my grade three science class. i I blink back tears as I type this. My heart goes out to your family.

Andre and I first met Ken in 2010 when we began to race in Edmonton. We were new and didn't know anyone, and Ken was walking around with a large Pizza box in his hand looking for someone to talk with. He wandered close by our trailer and offered us some of his pizza. He stayed with us for a while and talked and he was the first guy to welcome us to the track. As the season progressed, we began a friendship with Ken. We looked forward to his good humor, stories and laughs. Andre and Ken had a $5.00 bill that would go back and forth for whoever had the best reaction time. Needless to say Ken had it most of the time. We were unable to race in 2011 and 2012 due to projects on the go, but Ken was never far away in our thoughts. He would call once in a while and keep us up to date. We will miss him very much. We raced for once season together, and had many a good time with him. 4X40 will always remember CX72.
