I met Karen when we were in grade 5. Galahad school had closed and we were sent to Forestburg. She was the very first kid to come up and say "hi" and make friends with me. I have always appreciated that. She was always friendly and had a smile no matter who you were, or what your situation. She was great fun to hang around with, and a loyal friend to the end. Our sympathy to her entire family who she loved fiercely and was so proud of.

My deepest sympathies go out to Karen's young daughters and the rest of her family. Karen was a very bright light. She had passion for her nursing profession. I will remember and cherish the times working with her and visiting with her when we were neighbours. She will leave a big hole in the hearts of many.

Karen was such a wonderful lady!! I originally got to know Karen when working along side with her at homecare in Camrose as a HCA as well as her mom Mabel. Karen was a wonderful LPN and the clients loved her very much. She was always so positive and enthusiastic. Take care my friend and rest in peace.

Thoughts and prayers are with you girls and Grandma, as well as the rest of the family. Your Mom was strong, and I hope you are feeling some of her strength now and in the tough days ahead. You are her proudest moments, no matter how crazy you may have driven her at times! I will never forget her support and energy when we did the Kara Misner event with you kids. One step at a time girls. Feel the love she left, and make her proud. And mostly, take care of each other. You have lots of love and support.

Courtney, Taylor, TJ, and Mabel- I only worked with Karen for a few years at Camrose Home care, but I value the straight-forward teaching that Karen influenced myself with. Her and I seemed to be from 2 different planets, but we shared a sense of humor, and is to my knowledge the only one who ever caught on to all of my puns and plays on words. Sincere sympathy..Ann Scott Drumheller Home Care

Many memories of Karen, and we're laughing in most of them. My most special memory is her support after my miscarriage so many years ago. She was so good to me, and when I told her recently how much that meant, she hardly remembered it. That's because it wasn't unusual for Karen to go the extra mile if you were her friend. Rest in peace Karen, you will be remembered fondly.
