We treasure the memory of a kind, caring and special lady, who we called our friend. We also remember the many gatherings and good times with Lydia and friends at Luther Village and Belair and great meals at Pine St. In later years we were still blessed to visit with Lydia in Camrose several times. We miss you ,dear friend, but know that your biggest wish came true to be with Rudy again. Erika and Alf Marstaller

We are saddened to hear of Lydia's passing but we celebrate her life as a worker in God's vineyard. Those of us that knew Lydia when she and Rudy got involved in the ministry of Luther Village were blessed through her faith, her laughter and her work ethic. Those warm biscuits for coffee break, the arguments over how good the Oilers were, and the love and care she showed for her Rudy are indelibly etched in our minds. Lydia was a special person and we have all been enriched by knowing her.

Our thoughts and prayers to Lydia's immediate family. We were so blessed to have her in our family. Her focus on family, and encouragement in tracking down extended family in 'the old country' were wonderful traits. We enjoyed talking with her on the phone from time-to-time and getting to see her again several years ago when she came to Ontario. She will be missed.

My Dear Sister Lydia, you have always shown concern and care, but mostly love of every member of your Family. Our many phone calls and visits always included heartfelt concern for our Brothers, Sisters and all of our Families. Your special work with Luther Village was shown by The Schewe Chapel built because of your and Rudy's love and hard work for our Lord. Your Love for our Dear Lord has rewarded you with his Welcome. You will be sadly missed but always in my heart and mind. Your loving Sister Anne Schlecht.
