It was a while ago, but I remember Mr. Welde talking about Lars with a twinkle in his eye while teaching me and my classmates in the Gr 3-4 class at Gwynne school in 1988-89. I never knew Lars personally but it certatinly seems like he was a young man who made the eyes of his parents, siblings, other family and friends twinkle many times over. I was shocked to hear about the tragedy that took place last month and my thoughts and prayers are with you all.

Dear Alan, Ilene and Family, We were saddened to hear of the tragic accident that took the life of the young man near Loomas and knew we would remember his family in our prayers. At that time we did not realize that we knew Lars from when he worked in SuperStore. We wanted you to know that we would look for him when we were ready to check out and did not care how long his line was, we could wait. He was such a special young man and we know your loss cannot be put into words. My thoughts are with the entire Welde family; I was blessed to be given the privelege of growing up and being taught by many of the Weldes.
