20 years ago I came to Canada and tried to find some kayakers to go paddling with. I found "the group" and my life was never the same again. I fondly remember the rides to the river in Roger's old van, Saturday morning breakfasts at the Teddy Bear Cafe and Roger getting worked over at the Roger Hole. I am sorry I missed the service as I was away. I will have a special memorial at the Roger Hole this Spring on a Saturday perfect for paddling. I am grateful now that I did see you and Roger at the Birkie in February. Little did I know it would be the last time I saw Roger. He was the same old Roger.

Wendy & Sara Sheldon and I were so sorry to hear about Roger. We have many fond memories of kayaking, camping and skiing with him (and Sara). He always had a smile on his face and his great sense of humor brought one to ours. He was a true example of living his passions!

I am very saddened to hear of your loss Sarah and Wendy. Roger was a very special person, whom I will always remember with great fondness. With a mischievous twinkle in his eye and a very colourful vocabulary Roger always brought laughter and fun to every paddling trip he was on. Dear Wendy and Sara. I am so sorry for your loss. I recall so many memories. Roger had such enthusiasm for sports of all kinds, he was always challenging something new. His laugh was unique and joyful and he was compassionate to others. He would create smiles by pulling practical jokes; at the same time encouraging us and complimenting us at work.
