Bessie was one of 11 children born to Herman and Myrtle Berke and within those children she was an identical twin to Jessie Bona Berke. She spent her younger years in the Kelsey area, up until marrying Maurice Hall on April 26, 1949. Maurice and Bessie lived in Lacombe, Alberta where Bessie worked at the Lacombe Auction Mart, along with doing books for Central Building Movers, which at the time was Maurice's company, it stayed that way up until the family moved to Haney, B.C. in 1965. Maurice and Bessie raised their family of 9 kids in the lower mainland, where Bessie continued to work as a book keeper, and all the while her and Maurice raised their large family. Maurice and Bessie's retired years were spent in Central Alberta.
Bessie had a lot of things in life that she enjoyed but none as great as family get-togethers, following her husband Maurice around with his music, creating quilts, and studying family history.
