Gerald "Gerry" Allen Enger This man, who would ultimately become the light of many people's lives, was born on November 27, 1934 in the Elk Point, Alberta Hospital. He grew up in the New Norway area - his high school years were in Dewberry - he stayed there through the week, working in a hardware store for his keep and going home on weekends for some of his Mom's home cooking. He married and had four children from that union. Along the way, he managed to play a very mean bass guitar with a popular band in the 70's called the Dominos. Gerry totally loved his music - he grew up in a family who all played one instrument or another or sang.
During this time, he was studying for his chemical engineering degree and in the mid-fifties starting working for CIL (later named AT Plastics). He received his degree and was a very well-traveled man for this firm going from one project to another….he was lauded many times for his great engineering experience. After 40 years, he retired and remarried……….there were many more great travels together, camping, meeting new people in new places……….many good times were had………adventures galore!!
Gerry became very involved with the Camrose Legion and made many friends there over the years. He was the Poppy Chair for many years and later on took on the role of Service Officer. He so enjoyed working with the veterans and their dependents.
We will miss you Gerry - Bless you and go with God.
Gerry was predeceased by his father Gunder; mother Alma; brother Arthur; brother Spencer; and sister Eleanor.
