I met Dave back in the days when we both worked at Cactus Drilling= he was a field supervisor at the time. He was always easy to talk with and shared a genuine interest in all the workers on the rig. I enjoyed Dave's passion for his work and how he shared his knowledge on visits to the rig. Unfortunately I won't be able to attend the funeral in person, I did wish to send my condolences to his family on this day. To a most respected and honourable man- To Dave Hoogendoorn

My deepest sympathies to the Hoogendoorn family during this difficult time. When loved ones pass on, they leave a legacy behind. Dave will always be remembered for his leadership skills, the dedication to his job,his love for drilling rigs, and more importantly his joyful disposition and the way he always made you feel welcome in his presence. Dave will be missed by many people he has been in contact with over the years, but his legacy brought joy to everyone who knew him.

To the entire Hoogendoorn Family: I am so very sorry for your loss. After I retired after nearly 30 years in the police service I somehow began a new career in the oil industry working with the drilling contractors in Nisku and area. In both careers I have dealt with many many fine men, Dave was outstanding amongst them. Over this past 20 years he always had (made) time to see me, and always with his friendly positive attitude and big smile. He was a friend and will be missed by all who knew him.
