Leona Irene Lorenz

(April 10, 1930 - October 14, 2018)

Leona Irene Lorenz passed away peacefully, surrounded by her Girls5, on Sunday, October 14, 2018 at the age of 88 years.

Left to cherish her memory are her five girls – Judy, Janice (Wayne), Myrna (Wally), Meriel and Leslie (Ian); five grandchildren: Jeffrey (Brandie-Lee), D.J. (Brandie), Lynette (Dennis), Evan and Kennedy. Leona was also very proud of her great-grandchildren. Leona is also survived by her three sisters Rosemary, Ida and Marianne; three brothers Norbert, Nick and Leo and numerous extended family members.

Leona was predeceased by her loving husband of 57 years, August; as well as two brothers Ray and Matt; and one great-granddaughter.

A Prayer Vigil was held at 7:00 p.m., Thursday, October 18, 2018 from the Burgar Memorial Chapel.
 

A Funeral Mass was held at 11:00 a.m., Friday, October 19, 2018 from St. Francis Xavier Roman Catholic Church, with Rev. Joseph Jacobson as celebrant. A lunch followed at the Masonic Hall (5021 48 St) following the service.

If family and friends so desire, memorial contributions are gratefully accepted to St. Mary’s Palliative Care Unit, Camrose Home Care, or to the charity of one’s choice.
