Dear Duane,
I was very saddened to hear of Morley's passing while reading the New Trail Magazine. It wasn't often we would cross paths, usually at a musical concert, but it was always a great pleasure to see you both. Many times I have been the recipient of Morley 's generosity and good will. I will miss him. My sincere condolences to you Duane.

Duane and family: I am so sorry for your loss. I had not seen Morley for a while but always enjoyed our chats and I will never forget his passion for music and photography! He was one of the first people who came to introduce himself to me when I was hired as the Arts director for Camrose. I really appreciated that.
He will be greatly missed!

As a colleague of Morley from 1984 (when I began at Augustana) until his retirement, I had the privilege of working with him. His compassion, professionalism, knowledge, and dedication to his students were an inspiration to all of us. He often took me aside, as a new professor, and wondered how I was doing, offered wise advice, and generally treated me (and everyone) with great kindness. I don't recall ever seeing him lose his cool, despite the pressure we were often under. He lived his life with equanimity and grace.
I will always admire Morley, and I am very sad to see him go. I extend my condolences to his family and all those, like me, whom he befriended.

I am so sorry to hear this. I cherished my time with Morley when I first started teaching at Augustana in 1990. He took the time to mentor me when I was trying to figure out how to become a teacher as a student straight out of graduate school. He was a role model whom I aspired to emulate.

I'm so very sorry for your loss Mrs Riske, I remember you sometimes talking about him in class and I don't know if you remember me bringing in the butterflies dad found one winter for him. The memories will live on I'm sure!! If I see you I'll have to give you a huge hug. My deepest sympathies to you and your family.

Sincere condolences to you Duane, and your family. Morley was a great guy ... I have never forgotten how he helped our kids when they got badly stuck in the snow out by your farm! Morley brought them back home and helped to retrieve our car. He was indeed a very kind and talented man and will be missed in our community. Take care.

Duane, Marilyn & Graham,
Indeed sorry to hear of Morley's passing! Surely there will be an empty spot in yours hearts in these day, yet, rejoicing that he is now in Heaven, free of all ills of this world.
Our hearts are full of memories that revolve around his faith, love of love of music (which we were able to share with him, some from childhood days in Bruderheim!), his giving of himself selflessly, acceptance of all he encountered & his warm infectious smile coupled with a little tilt of his head.
May the Lord be especially near you in these days & wrap our arms around you, despite distance that separates us!

Morley was an inspiration for me. As a first year student he was my faculty adviser and we immediately bonded over our English Springer Spaniels. A favourite student memory of mine happened when we went ice fishing on Cole lake to collect live specimens for a lab project I was working on. Morley had a dedication to teaching that positively impacted so many of us. Even after his retirement and my graduation, Morley demonstrated what I would call an unwavering support of learning. He was unconditional with his support when I attempted to learn how to play saxophone. It never mattered how good you were, what mattered was the effort and passion. I will miss him and extend my condolences to Duane, Marilyn and Graham.

Morley was not only a fine teacher but also a fine person. He was dedicated to his students and his profession, always striving to be the best he could be. As a colleague he always had time to share teaching strategies and was unselfish in doing so. He also was passionate about his grebe studies, music and photography which gave him much personal joy. His generosity in sharing was defined by his humbleness, a most enviable quality.
Although Morley will be missed by many, he left memories for us all to reflect on with fondness and gratitude. May his family's loss be offset by these 'gifts' he has left behind.

Morley was a fine, cheerful man who was a very encouraging and supportive colleague when I began at CLC in 1984.
I will always remember Morley’s joyful enthusiasm for and participation in many community bands once he retired. He seemed to me the finest example of someone living a full, rich life once freed from the obligation to labour. I admired him.
Rest in peace, Morley. May choirs of angels surround and embrace you!
