I took a moment today when I saw the notification of Betty's passing. I only ever dealt with her at work places, Purity Water for a number of years, and then Electro-tel later. I always enjoyed her gentle manner and easy laugh. Even on some of her toughest days.
One of the bonding moments Betty and I had was after Fred passed away and she was dealing with the cell phone in his name, I was the Telus dealer that helped her. I called Telus Mobility and had the most ridiculous argument with someone about the death certificate, which we had sent a copy of in already if I remember correctly. This guy insisted he speak to Fred and wouldn't let it go. We were running out of polite ways to get through to this guy that he had passed. Finally, the two us were in fits of giggles when Betty said, "well if you know how to get ahold of him would you tell him I've got a few things to say to him!". We chuckled over that one a few times when I saw her.
Just wanted to share with you all that your parents are both remembered. Fred was a character too. They are thought of fondly.
Thoughts are with you at this most difficult time.I would imagine she left you a story or two to tell.
