(October 2, 1917 - March 16, 2019)
Victoria (McMahon) Saboe of Edmonton, Alberta, formerly of Camrose, Alberta, passed away on Saturday, March 16, 2019 at the age of 101 years.
Victoria ‘Vicky’ Keehn, one of six siblings, was born on October 2, 1917 to parents Fred and Marie (nee: Kuch). Her early years were spent on the family farm in Galahad where she developed a love for fishing as well as for gardening - an interest that would be with her into her later life and would shine in her large Forestburg and Camrose home gardens – as well as other interests such as sewing and crocheting.
After her marriage to Gordon McMahon, Vicky had the opportunity to travel; she enjoyed seeing Europe, Mexico, and much of the United States. Vicky’s later marriage to Johnny Saboe brought into her life the addition of three step-children and many additional happy years.
She will be forever in the hearts of her son Gary (Pat) McMahon of Edmonton; grandchildren Tracy (Darin) Mickey of Edmonton and Shelley (Dave) Shaw of Edmonton; great-grandchildren Kirsten (Anthony), Nicole, Nathan and Kaylie; great-great-grandchild Madison; daughter-in-law Bunny MacLeod; step-daughter Lynn Brown; four step-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Vicky was predeceased by her first husband Gordon McMahon; second husband Johnny Saboe; son Neil McMahon; step-sons Grant and Lyle Saboe; and siblings Annie, Emma, Esther, and Andrew.
A funeral service was held at 11:00 a.m., Friday, March 22, 2019 from the Redeemer Lutheran Church, 9654 74 Ave NW Edmonton with Rev. James Fritsche officiating. Interment has taken place in the Glenwood Cemetery in Sherwood Park, Alberta.
