What a wonderful, positive person, it was a real privilege to have known her.
Gustav and Ellen were great friends of my parents Ray and Esther Ovelson, I have fond memories of the four of them singing together and of course her homemade bread and jam!
My condolences to the family.... she will be missed.

On behalf of our family, I wish to express deepest sympathies to the family. How I will miss her laughter. Your Mother, Grandmother, Auntie was a very special person. I remember as a little girl going to the farmhouse for coffee. How we had a ongoing joke that no one knew about. May Ellen rest in peace, she is back home with Gustav & the girls. We always had fun with Auntie Ellen - oh how she loved to laugh! Her warm hospitality was unequalled; everyone was always welcome to their home. Remember having warm, freshly baked bread and strawberry jam sitting around the kitchen table with her and Uncle Gustav. She came with us on our family cruise to Alaska way back in June of 2008 and provided much laughter. We will miss you Auntie Ellen but are glad that you are now home with your Saviour and Gustav.

Ellen was a special aunt! She was always loving. Patience was generally her virtue when she was faced with obstacles. Ellen along with Gustav were always hospitable and would host Albin & Althea Winder's five kids off and on during the summer vacation, especially before she had seven of her own. I am not sure how she put up with the noise and tom foolery of Gustav and one or more of us scheming some trick on her. Ellen had a great sense of humour and would try to get some trick back on us. We will always treasure those memories. In later years she missed the farm but enjoyed hearing news about same and seeing pictures of her extended family.
Ellen was waiting to go to heaven and join Gustav and family. God Bless you Ellen!
Love Shirley
