Ruth Gertrude Gibson
(November 27, 1927 - December 30, 2019)
Ruth Gertrude Gibson of Camrose, AB, formerly of Kingman, AB, passed away on Monday, December 30, 2019 at the age of 92 years.
Ruth was born on the farm near Kingman to George and Alma Undin in November of 1927. Clifford and Ruth were married on June 22, 1951. Ruth lived on the Gibson Farm until she moved to Camrose in 2004. Ruth loved to support her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren in all of their sporting endeavors. She was always there cheering them on.
Ruth was famous for her flapper pie, apple pie with crackers (“we needed to save money”) and rice pudding with “dead flies”. She enjoyed baking buns, making lefse and teaching her grandchildren and great-grandchildren all of her tips and tricks.
Left to cherish her memory are her loving children; Donna (Gordy) of Edberg, Garry (Celine) of Edmonton, and Jim (Wendy) of Camrose. Ruth is survived by her thirteen grandchildren; twenty-three great-grandchildren; sister-in-law Louisa Undin; and numerous nieces, nephews and friends. She was predeceased by her parents George and Alma; her husband Clifford; her daughter Gail; her sisters Martha and Ellen; and her twin brother Rudolf.
Thank you to all of the staff at Rosealta and Louise Jensen Cottage for all of the care that was shown to our loving mom and grandma.
A Funeral Service was held at 1:00 p.m., Saturday, January 11, 2020 from the CityLights Church, 4920 48 Street Camrose with Rev. Brian Hunter officiating.
If family and friends so desire, memorial contributions in Ruth's memory may be made to the Kingman Cemetery Fund.
