I remember hearing him walking down the school hallway, jingling the keys in his pocket, warning us to return to our desks before he got he got to the classroom. I was a former student from Rocky lane and I appreciate that he gave the structure to our education.

Uncle George had a brilliant sense of humour. I remember as a child looking foreword to his family visits from ‘up north’ during our school summer holidays. Always wished he could have been one of my teachers.
My deepest sympathies

When I was a kid, my Mom used to say I was just like Uncle George. She meant it as a compliment. I wish it had been true. He was a wonderful uncle, and is missed.

I can remember when I taught grade 4 at Rocky Lane in May and June of 1969. When I commented on the cowpies in the school yard George said,”Well we are never short of bases on the ball diamonds. Our girls enjoyed him as their teacher in Bawlf many years later.

Mr Meyer thought through the years a Bawlf school! He was an amazing teacher who became a friend to some of us. And later teacher/friend with my kids! He was a special man that truly cared about every one. George will always be in my memories. Sending love to his family!
