I was so saddened to learn of Carl's passing. A true highlight for me growing up was the prospect of a visit to the farm to see Carl and Vera -- an adventure that would include an obligatory and much-enjoyed tour of Carl's farm equipment and Vera's garden, and a seat at their table enjoying their amazing spread. What comforts me is that Carl and Vera, true soulmates, are once again united. God bless you both -- and thank you for the love shown toward me and the rest of our family. Sincere condolences to Debbie and Darryl. Xoxo.

Uncle Carl’s shy giggle is my favourite memory of him. When he giggled his eyes would squish shut, he’d hide behind his hands, and laugh so that his body would shake. But if he was listening to a serious discussion with a person he’d look you in the eye and hear every word you said. Have fun with Auntie Vera and give her a hug from me Uncle Carl. Uncle Carl will always be remembered by me as my kind, caring and loving uncle who had a special place in his heart for family. He will be missed but remembered for a life well lived. My deepest sympathy.
