Dear Elsie, Joel and Family,
Please accept my sincere condolences in the passing of such a great Man, Bernie. I feel so blessed to have known Bernie; all his kindness and soft spoken ways. The love he has for his family could not be mistaken. How lucky his family was to have him for a Husband, Father and Grandfather.

Joyce and I knew Bernie and Elsie very well. I knew Bernie as a fellow educator and Elsie as a neighbour since our families were neighbours in Dinant. I recall Elsie and me picking market potatoes on their farm one fall. I don't know if Elsie remembers.

I met Bernie and Elsie at Foothills bible camp which was outside of Okotoks I was a camper but when I got too old to be a camper I would go there to see them even they have asked me go there for a meal, anytime I went there Bermie was glad to see me

Bernie will be missed and remembered fondly by all the students that he interacted with. I have many wonderful memories of Bernie as a teacher ,a principal and also as a stand-in father as I had the privilege of living in Elsie and Bernie's home in my last year of High school. We lived in Carbon for several years, and we all have fond memories of Mr. Fossen. My older brother and sister, Ross and Elayne, caused him some gray hair I'm sure, and my mom Rose Prellwitz enjoyed teaching in the Carbon school.
