Our condolences to all of you on the sudden passing of Shirley. Shirley was our mail lady and I could not believe the sad news when one of her co-workers told me; we are still in shock. Shirley used to call us on her phone to make sure we were home so that she could hand deliver our larger parcels to our door; what a kind and caring person. Our thanks to the family for leaving that final candycane in the mailbox; I hung it on our Christmas tree and will be keeping it as our special memory of Shirley. RIP Shirley, we miss you!

I was shocked and greatly saddened to hear of Shirley's passing on arriving home today. I'd like to thank her family for continuing her tradition of delivering a Christmas candy cane with our mail and letting us know of this sad news. Shirley was generous and caring and this Christmas tradition was a reminder of her kind spirit. My condolences to her family for your loss of a such wonderful person.

We, as a family, were so very sad to learn of Shirley’s untimely passing. She was unerring in her service as a mail carrier, and I was in awe of the enormity of the tasks she undertook in that capacity. Frequently, she would come right up to our house to deliver parcels too big for the mailbox and she always had a smile and time for a friendly greeting. In her capacity as a “postie”, she was the embodiment of the archetype. She struck me as a kind and giving soul, and she will certainly be missed. Hers will be big shoes to fill & we are so sorry for all the family. We will keep you in our prayers.

My sympathy to Shirl's family. I was very fortunate to have Shirley as a friend. I met Shirley at Canada Post when I transferred to Camrose in 1991.Shirley was so proud to work for Canada Post. She was very dedicated to her customers;they came first. I will have fond memories of Shirl. She was my Canada Post mom; always gave me a hug when needed. Shirl always made sure I got my diner card; that way we got to go out for 2 for 1 meals together. Shirley and I loved these muffins from Tim Horton's ; they only have them in October. Shirley sent me a text in October saying I'm eating one of our muffins and thinking of you .That is just one thing how she would show that she cared.every time. I went to the hairdresser last Saturday and knew you were there; you left a trail if peanut brittle that we all loved. I will miss you Shirl; I know you are with your mom and dad playing cards. Till we meet again. Love Patti
