I volunteered with Murray at the Hospice Society. His kind and caring soul helped heal all of us as well as our clients. Our meetings were always better when he and Dora were there, they both spread the love around. My thoughts and prayers are with you, his family at this difficult time. Much love, Margo

Murray was one of those people whose presence I enjoyed as we met in various community encounters. Whether it was a professional or personal context, Murray offered such gracious hospitality. To receive such ease and way in relating from Murray still places a smile on my face and warmth in my heart. I shall miss such delightful encounters with Murray. Blessings to the family, friends and community who mourn his passing.

I first met Murray just a few years ago, but we connected immediately. He was a gentle soul who wore his heart on his sleeve. And he didn't mind letting everyone see it. I soon found out I wasn't the only one touched by Murray. Everyone loved him. So I felt especially blessed when I was dealing with my own health issues and Murray became my Navcare volunteer. We soon established a routine of meeting every week and Murray became a familiar presence in my life always accompanied by his two oxygen tanks which followed him everywhere like faithful companions. Eventually our Navcare meetings just became a chance to chat as friends and to exchange harmless digs about Scots and French Canadians. I saw Murray for the last time a couple of days before he died. His physical condition was clearly deteriorating, but not a peep of complaint came out of him. Instead we traded reminiscences of the blessings which had filled our lives. He was the living embodiment of of the saying: "Be kind. Everyone you meet is fighting a hard battle." Oidhche mhath, good buddy.

To all of Murray’s family, my sympathies and condolences to you. I have many fond memories of Murray, working many funerals with him and his involvement with The Camrose Hospice Society. His genuine love for people and his passion for the bereaved will be so very missed in the Camrose community! He had such a beautiful humble spirit, and had the ability to meet people exactly where they were at in their journey, regardless of where they had come from. Peace and strength to all of you, “ “Eternal Memories”
