We did not learn of Ron's passing until January, 2021. After our marriage in 1969, we had teaching positions in Hussar School, where Ron was the Principal. He moved on, and so did we, but throughout the years, we maintained contact, and we visited with him many times - mostly in our home in Red Deer, although we visited him once in Heisler. We even dropped by to see him one summer when he was taking his Master's Degree in Missoula at the University of Montana. Ron was a good friend, and we loved to hear about his educational adventures, his political life, and his passion for History. He was a dedicated educator, and public servant, and we will miss him very much.

I was very fortunate to work with Ron within the museum and historical world. He was a leader and respected. When he spoke, people listened. And when others spoke Ron listened. He boosted moral with his every beaming smile. I loved to listen to Ron and although I don't remember all the details, he once took me through his education and work experience. He loved people and was a friend to everyone.

My sincere condolences to Ron's family on their loss.
I knew "Mr. Williams" when he was a teacher and principal at the Heisler School. He was a very kind and knowledgeable teacher who treated all of the students fairly and with great respect. He had a great sense of humour and I don't recall a time when that gentle smile wasn't on his face. He may have had to discipline the odd student but am sure it hurt him more than the student!
May he rest in peace,
Annette (Volk) Jones
