Dear family and friends of Hannah Gunderson,
Words cannot express the grief you must be feeling of losing your child, sister or friend. We were all shocked to hear of Hannah’s passing. Hannah was a such an amazing student. She was an amazing woman and has overcome many struggles for her Bachelor’s in child and youth care. Her graduation was a demonstration of her strength and perseverance. Hannah would have been an amazing caregiver and the world is worse off without her. She has been taken too soon from this world.
SAMU (Student's Association of MacEwan university) would like to offer our deepest condolences to those affected by her loss. This is a very hard time and I can’t imagine losing such a wonderful daughter, sister, and/or friend on top of everything else. We wish courage, strength and love during this difficult time to anyone affected by Hannah’s loss.
Our deepest sympathies for your loss,
Stephanie Ouellette (She/her)

A truly remarkable young woman who had accomplished so much in her lifetime. The Team and I at Strathcona Orthodontics pass on our deepest condolences to the Gunderson Family. We were fortunate to know her and come to love and admire her.
“We little knew that morning when God was to call your name.
In life, we loved you dearly, in death, we do the same.
It broke our hearts to lose you, you did not go alone,
for part of us went with you, the day God called you home.
You left us peaceful memories, your love is still our guide,
and though we cannot see you, you are always at our side.
Our family chain is broken, and nothing seems the same, but as God calls us one by one, the chain will link again.”
Respectfully Terry D. Carlyle

Dave, Kathy, Cole and Lindsay and Ashley, my heart goes out to you in this deep grief andd loss of your beautiful Hannah. I know you have all spent time with us in our home as Hannah came over to hang out with Aliese! One time, Aliese wanted Hannah for a sleepover and I remember how Ashley and Hannah came over and hung out with the girls. A great time was had by all. I remember some joking by Ashley to Hannah about the beloved boy of the time. (Pretty sure Justin B was on his way out but can't remember who was sliding into Hannah's love circle at that moment!) You all loved Hannah so well and she in turn loved others so well. She was one of Aliese's first friends in the new school of Ministik when we moved out there. Aliese and Hannah met first dayof grade one and stayed connected for all the years following. We all will miss the warmth, humor and twinkle of the eye that Hannah brought into every room she entered. All our love and prayers to you all as you carry Hannah close in your hearts....forever.

Hi Dave and Kathy - we are so sad for you and your family to learn of Hannah's passing.
Hannah's life and your support are living examples of the best in the human spirit - choosing hope over fear, dignity in adversity, and insisting on steadfast progress. It was our honour to see Hannah and her family demonstrate these qualities in the most difficult of circumstances - what an example, it taught us humility to say the least!
Hannah's beautiful smile and unstoppable spirit will never be forgotten.
We are hoping you take the time needed to grieve. Let us know of anything we can do.
Peace and prayers.

I have a few memories of Hannah, Dave, and many memories of sharing with you guys about how bravely, resourcefully, and successfully she (and you) rose to the challenges her life presented in school and then as a keen post-secondary student. I was devastated to hear of the loss you and Kathy--and the rest of our community in Inclusion Alberta--have sustained. My heart goes out to you while you and all of us think of all you have lost--and all you gained during her tragically short life. Yours in tears, other Dave (i.e., Oakleaf)

I remember doing projects at school with you and how you and I clicked so quickly! I remember when I told you I was going to have a baby you told me it was going to be a boy born on your birthday! We did not know the sex of the baby yet, but Sept 2019 I told you in fact it was going to be a boy and in November he was born on your birthday! This memory we will hold forever! Miss you and hugs.

Mr. Gunderson,
My sister informed me of the untimely passing of your beloved daughter, Hannah, a few days ago, and, luckily, she was also able to pass along the name of the funeral home that handled the final arrangements. That said, I offer you and your loved ones my deepest condolences at this difficult time; it is almost a perversion of nature anytime that a child is taken before his or her parents. I cannot imagine the grief that must result from such a situation. As someone who has attended more funerals in his lifetime than weddings, I encourage you and your family to reflect fondly on the cherished memories that you made during Hannah's 22 years on Earth. She touched many lives in such a brief life, and she will never be gone as long as you find a way to remember her. Perhaps, one day, you will meet her again.
Respectfully,
Jordan Reil

Hannah was a friend of mine at MacEwan University. She had the most infectious laugh and gorgeous smile. I will remember her by that and her sense of style that I would compliment her on. My teacher Mr. Gunderson would talk about her in class frequently and talk about their walks and adventures as a family. My heart goes to the Gunderson's that cared for her and loved for her so deeply. My thoughts are with you all in these difficult times.
