Obituary of Dolores Meyer

Dolores Marie Meyer of Heisler passed away Saturday, December 28, 2013 at the age of 70 years. Dolores Marie Meyer was born to Josephine and Arthur Steil on May 28th, 1943 in Galahad, Alberta. Dolores lived on her parents family farm and attended Round Head Creek School. She married Alvin Meyer on April 23, 1966. They purchased the family farm the next year and continued the mixed farming operation, Dolores developed a dedication for her greenhouse. This evolved into a business, which she was very dedicated to until her passing. Her passion in life was enjoying the outdoors which included her hobbies such as gardening, camping, fishing, traveling, and spending time with her family and friends especially during the Christmas season. Dolores is survived by her loving husband, Alvin; her two sons Dennis (Sharon) and Dale (Veronica); three grandchildren, Kyle, Shelby and Sadie; her sister Diane Prescott (Arthur) of Winnipeg. She was predeceased by her sister Sandra; her parents Josephine and Arthur and stepmother Nadia (Condon). The Meyer family would like to thank all friends and family for their support, friendship, and love during Dolores' beautiful life. A Mass of the Resurrection was celebrated 11:00 a.m. Friday, January 3, 2014 from St. Martin Roman Catholic Church Heisler with Rev. Leon Kler as celebrant. Inurnment has taken place in the Camrose Cemetery at a later date. If family and friends so desire, memorial contributions are gratefully accepted to the Cross Cancer Institute, Daysland Palliative Care, or to the charity of one's choice.
