Farewell Mike, You will be missed, your involvement in Trojan football encouraged me to promote football in Camrose and your presence in hockey was very special. Always a smile and never a sour word from you mike even in treatment you showed strength to strangers. Our family appreciates your friendship you always asked after our children and spoke fondly of students you interacted with in the sports world. So very sorry to hear of Mike's passing. I first met Mike when I joined the Vikings in 1986 and he has always remained a part of our Vikings family through the years. He was a big personality with a big heart and a truly loyal Viking. On behalf of myself, my wife Jane, and all of Vikings Hockey, I want to pass on our prayers and deepest condolences to Mike's family and friends. He will be missed by everyone and especially at the hockey rink. Rest in Peace Mike. Once a Viking, always a Viking.

Well, I am sad.
Mike was our ‘stick boy’ for the Camrose Stampeders Jr.B for the 2 years I was there...it just so happened that the ‘ equipment manager’ for the Vikings quit during a trip to Europe (BM), so I encouraged Mike to apply for the vacancy.... he was apprehensive and overly stand-offish about it...but I convinced him that he would travel better places and actuality get paid... so he did and he was there for over 20 years. My friend my brother my family. I will really miss you Mike!

Mike was a big help to me when I coached CLC in the early 80’s. He remained a passionate follower and fan of the program. Anytime I returned to Camrose and bumped into him I enjoyed our chance to reconnect.. I am saddened and shocked. I do want to pass on my condolences to his family at this challenging time
