A few days before I heard of Ed’s passing I was telling a workmate about the little Q mart stores that used to be around Camrose when I was growing up. If you had a few dollars in your pocket you could go in and get a big piece of beef jerky from the deli and a Dr. Pepper. Mr. Lauer was always the nicest man. My condolences to the Lauer family.

Donna .... I watched Ed's funeral and I wanted to tell you I thought it was one of the nicest services I have seen. Your grandchildren did their part so graciously. I liked how personal the Priest made the service. Ed's life was certainly worked into the service throughout. My sincere condolences to you all from the "Clemen's" family. Under difficult times you gave Ed a memorable and beautiful farewell. Take care of yourself.

Mrs.Lauer, Holly and Families,
I am so sorry to hear of your loss. Memories I have of Mr. Lauer volunteering with the Camrose Figure Skating club. I also worked at Marler Q-Mart and he taught me about the different types of luncheon meats, how to slice and clean a slicer, counting the money, preparing the next days float and that nights deposit. Sorry to hear of Eds passing.
I came to know him way back when my employer set up a meeting with this financial guy to discuss options in our retirement planning.
As a young adult, it's hard to get excited about something like retirement when it's so far off. Ed was always very good about explaining things and liked to think he taught me something along the way!
He was my financial advisor right till he retired but continued on as a friend, chatting over breakfasts in the restaurant which I worked.
I will miss his words of wisdom and the time he took to spend with me.
