Mr. Felzien was my grade 4 teacher in Thorhild. He was one of my favorite teachers. He always had exciting stories to share and he had a way of making learning fun. Some days we would practice spelling and math by playing a game which usually involved 2 lines of students, the front two would be asked to spell a word or given a math problem to solve. Once Mr. Felzien finished relaying the question, the front two would have to race to the chalk board and write down the correct answer. The first one to finish would get a candy. Somehow, we all managed to receive a candy by the end of the game. He would also read to us after lunch so we had a chance to calm down and get ready learn. I don't know what made me think of him today but after looking up his name, I saw his obituary. May his family and friends have comfort in knowing that he made a difference. We have many fond memories of Irvin and Charlotte from family gatherings and their visits to Denver and Arizona. My parents, John and Pearl Goeglein, enjoyed their times together in Arizona. Mom was a Felzein (Bracelin), also born in St Francis KS. Rest In Peace.

I am deeply sorry for your loss. I did foot care for Irvin, and Charlotte for many years. I greatly enjoyed listening to their amazing stories of all the places that they travelled together. Irvine was a wonderful man. I will really miss our chats. Sincerely, Rhonda David

Irvin was my Moms neighbor at Deer Meadows, he was such a friendly man and always had the time to chat and tell a story or two !! I loved that all the neighbors in his wing would gather for a special occasion and share a glass of red wine and just enjoy each other’s company!! My mom (Gwen) and I will miss him !!
