David and Pat Lyseng send sincere condolences to Mary’s Family. A few years ago, Mary asked David to help her make a collage of pictures of the days she worked in Banff/Jasper as a teenager. The pictures were of a time when the movie “River of No Return” with Marilyn Monroe was being filmed there. Marilyn was married to Joe DiMaggio, the famous baseball player at the time. Mary got to know them and had some pictures taken with them. We knew it was a special memory for her and David loved reproducing these into a collage for her. She loved talking about those days and we loved listening to her. She was a beautiful woman, very fit and attractive and certainly didn’t look her age. We will miss her.

I mourn the loss of your dear Mother....and with it so many fond memories of her support of the Camrose swim club, all those years ago. I learned a lot from your Mom, especially when it came to raising our own girls and the activities they pursued. You don't have to know 'how' to do the sport or activity they love... you just make sure to 'be there' for your children. And when I think of the Niewchas family....I think of your smiles....you have your Mother's smile. And I am sure many of her other loving qualities as well. God bless you all!

A memory with Mary is killing 25 chickens. It was very hot so we jumped into a big rain barrel of water to cool off. Mary went home with 10 big chickens. We enjoyed each other. We gardened a lot picking peas and carrots and also spent many hours playing bridge when the work was done. She will be missed.

An iconic fixture in the neighbourhood, she always had time for a chat. She was lovely and welcoming and her door was always open, except when it was frozen shut or the battery died on the lock. She will be missed. Rest in peace, be whole and healed.

A favorite memory of Mary was the day we did garbage pick up around the lake for the United church clean up . Big garbage bags and oversize rubber gloves in hand we trudged off not aware that the job would become so much fun. Stories and laughs made for a great time together. I really appreciated your mom any time we had a visit.
My sympathies to you in your sadness. Your mom leaves good friends, good memories, and a family she was proud of.

Mary was one of the best bridge players , smart dresser, and good women . I have fond memories of bridge tournaments a cold beer in the back yard. And of course Mary’s Sence of humor . She always had an word or two to share. It was a privilege too know your mom blessings. Bonnie cooke
