I am saddened to learn about George's passing. Sincere condolences to Val and Buttimer family.
The Buttimer family should be proud of George and I know god has received a fine gentleman in his team. May his soul rest in peace.
I first met the Buttimer family in 1990 when I had to go do veterinary work on their cattle farm just north of Edberg. They welcomed me to their farm just like I was a family member and invited me for lunch made by Mrs. Buttimer; a meal and time that will remain in my memory forever. Over the years I made many visits to the farm and worked with George and he was an outstanding gentleman. I lost touch with George after he sold his cattle and moved to RedDeer but my time working with George and his mum Helen will be my good fortune. Helen, although of small stature always received respect from the big Angus cows when she went into the maternity pen to check their newborn calves.
