Blonde hair laughing on the swings, zipping down the slide. Finding us kittens... Sad when too cold to compete at Alberta Winter Games in Fort McMurray.... Amazed at his athletic feats and adventures since.
So very sad to not be able to follow this truly amazing person on through what was surely to be an exciting and inspiring future.
Cousins Deanna, Dan, Maria and Anna
An inspiration gone far too soon...

I remembered the first time I asked my daughter Jahnoya who he was, at that time they were at Sifton. I would get to the school and while the other children were playing or talking he would be running laps on the playground. When they went over to Charlie Killam I would see him coming in after a run or taking in his bike. Ever since seeing Ole running at Sifton, I have admired his determination and commitment.
My condolences to his family and friends.

Our hearts are breaking for your family on the loss of such an extraordinary young man. Ole was a wonderful person, and he touched so many people in his short life. He was an amazing athlete, as well, but I know him best as one of the best up and coming musicians I have ever had the pleasure to teach. Ole will be sorely missed by all who knew him. Having lost our own dear son at the age of 19, we are familiar with the grief that you are living through. We pray that the wonderful memories of Ole will sustain you, and please know that we are here if you ever feel the need to talk.

Ole shone so bright. We often reflect on how he would finish a race (usually in first), then go cheer everyone else on, thank the volunteers, and then see how he could help with teardown or whatever else was needed. He inspired us all to be better humans, and to work hard. You are so very missed Ole. Every time we are on the trails we will think of you and your humongous smile. Love from the Bonzi’s.

Dear Heie family,
My son Olin Baergen and his family here in Canmore have been very saddened by the death of Ole. Olin and I shared memories of 2019 Alberta Youth Championships when Olin last spent time with Ole. He cherished the cool down ski they did together on the last day of races in the sun in Bragg Creek. Olin said that Ole was was such a competitor during the races, and always congratulated Olin at the end with smile and never bragged about his many many accomplishments. I have seen him cheer his team mates as enthusiastically as he skis. He will be greatly missed by the Alberta ski community. He was an incredibly bright light who will continue to shine in our hearts, memories and on the ski trails.
