I just recently heard about this sad news and would like to extend VERY belated condolences to all of Bruce's family and friends. Being neighbors in Camrose, our family had the pleasure of knowing Bruce and having him over to our house often. He was a lot of fun and a very gentle, kind soul. My thoughts and prayers are with all of you.

Prayer is an act of love; words are not needed. Even if sickness distracts from thoughts, all that is needed is the will to love - Saint Teresa of Avila
I have grown with your love and support for almost 40 years ~ you are the kindest man I have come to know, perhaps the kindest to walk the Earth.
I love you uncle Bruce ❤️~ Rest

Like many others, I am saddened at Bruce's passing. I have known him pretty much since I came to Camrose in the early eighties. He actually was Rob (Steinwandt) and my daughter's Godfather. I have a lovely picture of the two of them at her second birthday tea party! He was a wonderful party guest.
Indeed, graceful and kind was his true nature. He was also quite passionate about religious or political topics! Those conversations were often way longer than anyone anticipated. Especially when we only had landline phones which kept a person unable to do much other than listen. Oh well. His heart was in the right place and we mostly enjoyed those calls. Wink Wink.
My condolences go especially to Robert and family, Georgina and family, Gary, and Rick and Elaine who have been faithful friends of his for many years. They have been with him through thick and thin and he truly loved them. God bless their hearts.
May Bruce rest in peace at last.

Like Bruce, I grew up among twelve cousins living within two blocks of each other in Camrose. I did not spend much time with Bruce at that time, as I was the youngest of these cousins. However, I did buy my first car from Bruce in 1976--a green Datsun outfitted with a yellow shag rug. I left Alberta in 1979, but the last time I saw Bruce was in 2001 at the Schamber reunion. My dominant memory of Bruce is that he was always very kind and friendly. I am sorry to hear of his passing, and I offer my condolences to Bruce’s brothers, relatives and all those close to Bruce. Unfortunately, I am unable to attend his funeral.
The video of the Schamber reunion is available at the link below. Bruce appears briefly at the beginning within the group of cousins:

I have known Bruce forty five years. Even though Bruce had his own health issues, he always had time to help whomever needed it. No matter what, he’d be there with tool belt on and ready to offer assistance. My family had the pleasure of his company at all our family functions. He was gentle and soft spoken. He had a subtle sense of humour.. His unending capacity of knowledge always made for great conversation. One word to describe Bruce is ‘kindness’. Everyone that crossed his path was always met with his 100 watt smile. I’m saddened with Bruce’s passing. There is now an empty chair at Georgina’s long kitchen table. He will be sorely missed. I will miss you Bruce. Rest in peace my friend!

Robert, Jim, Elena and the rest of your family:
Please accept my sincere condolences on the passing of Bruce. Growing up on 48 Str., I always felt as though I had an extra brother. He wouldn't let the bullies bother me or make me cry. Bruce had a lot of adversity in his life but would always strive to overcome. I deeply admired him for that.
Sincerely,
Kathy (Rakoz) Tripp
