Bob was always clear in what he thought. As a referee in my hockey games I was sure he was often wrong but he was emphatic and clear. About 32 years ago we wanted our cognitively and physically challenged son to go to our local school for grade 1. At the time the County Administration bussed all Special Ed students to a school in Camrose. This meant a 3-4 hour bus ride daily. We asked to meet with the school board to ask them to allow our son to go to his local school. At this time Bob was a county councillor. The school board included all the county councillors. We presented our case to the board at a meeting with the support of our local councillor. The initial discussion started and it was clear we would lose. Then Bob spoke as only Bob could. In his passionate and a little scary way, he supported us and questioned the other councillors intellect if they voted against our son going to his local school. "Give the kid a chance" he stated. Instantly the meeting tone changed and our son was allowed to go to our local school. It was an experiment that was a huge success and has made our son into the confident and social person he is today!
Thank you Bob! You gave the kid a chance!
Love Keith, Terri & Brad Lyseng

Our heartfelt sympathies to you Margaret and family. I will never forget Bob when he was acting Reeve at the time I was much younger, and as he entered the office by way of the back door while using his booming voice to announce his presence and that we had all better be working. He was a wonderful man to know and would always take the time to say hello. He will be lovingly remembered and sadly missed.
Marilyn and Terry Nordin.

Margaret—Becky and I send heartfelt condolences. We have so many wonderful memories of you and Bob, always enjoying seeing you both at community events and at Augustana volleyball and hockey games. I always loved the teasing and the repartee with Bob. Above all, he had a big heart; he cared about his community, and he generously supported it. Hugs from both of us. Allen and Rebecca Berger

Marg and the family - the Lord be with you
I came home tonight from church meeting and read about Bob's passing. I stood silent for many minutes - still in shock. Bob greatly influenced my life as a person, athlete and citizen of this country. His sense of fair play, honesty and clear direction - always tempered, in my recollection, with good humor will stay with me all my life. I join you in mourning the passing of your husband, father and my friend. Unfortunately I am unable to attend Bob's funeral on May 4th but know that on this day, this celebration of life will be in my prayers.

My sincere condolences to Bob’s family. I met Bob many years ago when I got involved with Jaywalkers. I was a little green back then and I’m not going lie just booming voice scared the heck out of me at first. I came to realize that there was nothing to fear. He was a good man and a mover and a shaker. Camrose is very lucky that he chose to support it and its citizens over the years.

Our deepest condolences you and your family Margaret, on the passing of your beloved Bob.
We will miss our weekly telephone calls, he never did say goodbye so I knew he would be calling the following week.
I know Bob missed his conversations with dad and dad knew if the phone rang before 7 am it was mostly likely "Prestige".
Its the end of a special era, one where Bob will be extremely missed.

Saturday mornings in the Brown household started with the 'Bob' alarm clock. The bonus part was you didn't even need to get out of bed to hear the conversation. Even on the rare occasions I stayed at the folks as an adult; the phone would ring first thing in the morning and I knew exactly who was on the other end.
A man of integrity, connections and community. He will be dearly missed.

I was doing a gardening show on CFCW with Bob Sproule of Salisbury Gardens in Sherwood Park and talking about garden fertilizer when one of us mentioned that sheep manure was a good choice for gardeners. It was only minutes before Mr. Prestage came up the control room steps and told us cow manure was a much superior choice....a cattle man through and through. He told me he loved listening to me.. I loved listening to him too. And I've not used sheep manure since. Pete & Twylene Hicks
