Dear Stan and family,
Members of the Saint John General Hospital School for Nurses Alumnae wish to express our condolences to you, the family of our friend and fellow graduate, Joan (Sweezey) Bergstrom. Joan will certainly be missed by all of you, her friends and everyone who had the privilege of knowing her, especially her nursing class of 1964. We will keep you in our thoughts and prayers.
As is our practice, we are making a donation to our SJGH School for Nurses Alumnae Scholarship Fund in memory of Joan.
Our scholarships are awarded annually to deserving UNB Saint John nursing students who excel in Geriatric Nursing.

It has been my good fortune to have been Joni's friend for 40 years. She was a very special person, compassionate and giving of herself, with a great sense of humor. I treasure the memories of our shared life experiences, from swimming to weddings and funerals, and visits down south. We will greatly miss her beautiful radiant smile. To her family, may she continue to live in your hearts and bring you joy.
There is one very empty lane in the swimming pool of life; and Joni's life was a gold medal performance.
