Uncle Donny,
What can I say, always ready for a good laugh. One of the loudest at the family gatherings, never a dull moment and helped contribute to my cavities in my younger years Lol. Not much conversation as I was quieter but always offered some hard candy to me the many visits we had as our families lived closer at that time. Uncle Donny would offer it to me and I would with my sweet tooth no problem grab one or two and he would laugh and say,” Oh Val”. Lots of memories on your farm outside of Camrose, making homemade ice cream, watching Dukes of Hazard, playing pool. I could go on. You will be missed but memories are there and you are in your true with Jesus in Heaven. See you soon ❤️

I have such great memories of Uncle Don, he was always laughing and joking around. As I watched the service today, I was reminded of some special memories of him, his love for cars and the immaculate condition he kept them. I remember this one time when we were kids and there was either snow or rain on the ground and we all had to take our boots off before getting in the car and Uncle Don placed them safely in the trunk. Also the one and only time I went to the race track in Kamloops with Uncle Don and was convinced from them on that I wanted to be a Pink Powder Puff racer!! So many great memories of church and family times with Uncle Don. We know your are with Jesus and my Mom and we will see you both one day soon in the sweet by and by. we will meet on that beautiful shore.

Where do I begin..... memories of Friday night gatherings to play pool and watch Dukes of Hazzard. Camping trips, days at the lake, skidooing in the winter, Uncle Don's laughter, his teasing nature and his talent for sharing whatever was on his mind. Memories to cherish until we can all gather together with our Saviour.

I can’t help but think what sights you’re seeing now Uncle Donny and the people you’ve met; Dean, Auntie Elsie, your brother who passed in infancy and Grandpa and Grandma Schaber. I remembered a phone I had with Dean before he passed and he said God had granted him a short glimpse of heaven; I could hear awe and confidence in his voice as he said how incredible it was see. We’ll see you soon Uncle.
THE LAST SONG
The last song that I sing,
Leaving this world of suffering.
Is the hallelujahs as I go home.
As angels, a longing spirit,
Takes to Christs throne.
(Chorus) What joy will fill my voice,
Singing this offering.
To the One,
Gods only Son!
As he strips away the robes,
Of this mortality.
The tears as I bow low,
Robed in His majesty.
A joint heir with Him,
For all eternity!
As Angels wings unfurl!
Like a new born,
I behold another world!
Though many faces and places,
I want to see.
The hunger of this lovers soul,
Will not keep.
Until finding objects passion,
At Jesus feet!
(Chorus) What joy will fill my voice,
Singing this offering.
To the One,
Gods only Son!
As he strips away the robes,
Of this mortality.
The tears as I bow low,
Robed in His majesty.
A joint heir with Him,
For all eternity!
For those I leave behind,
Do not weep!
For if the Lord,
With your life you will seek.
Always remember the last song,
That you sing.
Will be the one that I hear,
As Jesus brings you back to me!
(Chorus) What joy will fill my voice,
Singing this offering.
To the One,
Gods only Son!
As he strips away the robes,
Of this mortality.
The tears as I bow low,
Robed in His majesty.
A joint heir with Him,
For all eternity!
Written for the greater glory of God

Please accept my deepest condolences. Don was a very special man, someone I have loved and appreciated since the very first time I met him, 49 years ago. I was 12 getting into the Sunday School van that arrived at our home out on Otway Rd in Prince George, BC. Don was the driver. He had such an awesome sense of humor and a happiness that I had never experienced before. I am not sure he ever knew this but his smile was something I looked forward to each week. My childhood was pretty rough, but those times made a massive difference in my life. I know Don made a difference in my life. Every time I saw him over the years those bus rides were always on my mind. Those were God moments, through which Don was used to help me see Jesus and experience His great love. Don was a blessing and will always hold a special place in my heart.
May the peace of God surround every person who has ever known Don. I pray that God will uphold you all, especially Bev and the family as you mourn his sudden passing. May the God of all comfort come along side of you and be brave together with you. God is good all the time and every time.
